Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for operation, configuration, implementation and maintenance procedures for the IP services and Corporate Services for the MTN network. Participate in the safe integration, introduction & development of peripheral systems or services and establish the technical acceptance for the network. Participate in trainings and meetings with other departments and study the functionality and evolution for IP technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operation, configuration, implementation and maintenance procedures for the IP services and Corporate Services for the MTN network. Participate in the safe integration, introduction & development of peripheral systems or services and establish the technical acceptance for the network. Participate in trainings and meetings with other departments and study the functionality and evolution for IP technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Preventive maintenance tasks in order to achieve high QoS and to minimize the service outages of the IP network, solutions and NMS systems.
- Coordinate and discuss with the IP Network and Corporate Services Support Manager about the results in order to meet with the needs of the department.
- Daily operation and maintenance upon the IP network elements and services and the ability to identify and troubleshoot problems and realizes important problems/issues, the severity of their consequences. Develops solution taking into consideration the company’s priorities, each individual’s skills, and the urgency of the problem. Refer unusual system/network behavior to the IP Manager in order to deliver the services required by the company’s standards.
- Coordinate or participate in meetings with NMC section in order to provide technical assistance related to operational problems of the network.
- Provides second level of support towards Customer Care.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings with Planning, IT/Provisioning, IT/Billing, Switching Access Network Transmission and Corporate Sales in order to provide technical assistance of implementation or integration of new services or platforms within the network..
- Provides second level of support towards Corporate Sales or Corporate customers.
- Provide feedback and coordinates accordingly upon Feasibility Studies deliver by the Planning Department related to new installations (services/systems or hardware) that are planned to be integrate within the network or to be supported by the section.
- Responsible to provide technical assistance for operation, configuration implementation and maintenance procedures for the hosted services and NMS systems for the MTN network and the network elements that compose the solutions.
- Participate in the safe integration, introduction & development of peripheral systems or services and establish the technical acceptance for the network.
- Responsible of the roll out procedures for installation, integration or upgrade new or existing services (systems) on the IP network and services.
- Provide 24/7 on call support (weekly basis) towards the NMC section.
- Engineering degree level (minimum 4-years based)
- Previous experience in the field of telecommunication will be consider as advantage
- Experience in the IP technologies (switching, routing, STP, VLAN etc).
- Experience with CISCO & JUNIPER technologies.
- Unix/Linux.
- Huawei network elements considered as an advantage
- MPLS
- VoIP, DSL Technologies, ADSL2+ considered as an advantage.
- General overview of upon telecommunication network protocols and principles considered an advantage.
